Sotheby's London has published sale prices for the auction History in Manuscript: Letters and Documents from a Distinguished Collection, held on 13th April.
The sale included several noteworthy lots relating to the Revolution:
Lot 12: Jacques Pierre Brissot | Two autograph letters signed, with 16 other letters and documents, 1784-91. Sold for £1,890.
Lot 19: Jean Baptiste Carrier | Document signed, with a group of other French Revolutionary documents, 1790s. Sold for £882.Lot 28: George Jacques Danton | Document signed, ending the employment of Swiss Regiments in the service of France, 1792 Not sold. Estimate £3,000-£5,000.
Lot 52: French Revolution | A collection of c. 40 documents, 1789-95 Sold for £2,520.
Includes autographs of Fouquier Tinville, Merlin, Santerre, Collot d'Herbois, Hébert.
Lot 53: French Revolution--Comité de salut public | A collection of seven documents, 1793-94. Sold for £1,638.
Lot 54: French Revolution--Convention Nationale | A collection of documents Sold for £3,024
Lot 55: French Revolution--Le Directoire | A collection of letters and documents Sold for £882
Lot 88: French Revolution—Louis XVI | A collection of letters and documents relating to the King's imprisonment, 1792-1793 Sold for £5,040
Lot 90: Jean Paul Marat | Autograph manuscript draft letter of resignation from the National Convention, 1793 Sold for £8,1890
Lot 91: Marat--Louis Deschamps | Official report of the autopsy and embalming of Marat, July 1793 Sold for £4,410
Lot 132: Robespierre | Signed manuscript copy of a message to the army on Republican victories, 1793 Not sold
Lot 133: Robespierre | Document signed, also signed by three others, warning of counter-Revolutionary activity, 27 December 1793 Sold for £5,040.
Lot 135: Marie-Jeanne Roland | Autograph letter signed, warning of the coming Terror, with related material, 1792 Sold for £3,276.
Lot 136: Antoine Joseph Santerre | Document signed, on the Fall of the Bastille, 26 July 1789 Sold for £882.
