Duke of Orléans portrait restored

 The Town Hall in Orléans, Cap Cod, has put on display a newly restored painting of the Duke of Orléans, lately rescued from the basement.

I'm bemused by this one.  Surely this portrait can't really be Louis Philippe II / Philippe Égalité, as they say??  The costume is far too early.  Looks much more like the Regent, Philippe II (1674-1723) to me.
