Rothchild porcelain exhibition

A new exhibition at the Mobilier National (42 Avenue des Gobelins, Paris) showcases 18th-century Sèvres porcelain from the Rothschild family collections.  ‘Sèvres, a Rothschild Passion’, opens on  17th April and runs through to 26th July 2026.

Sofia Coppola's Marie-Antoinette at Versailles

An exhibition marking the twentieth anniversary of Sofia Coppola's film "Marie Antoinette" will run at the Trianon estate from 22nd September 2026 to 24th January 2027.

A Day in the 18th century

A new exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, running 18th February to 5th July,  recreates "a day in the 18th-century" at a Parisian townhouse. Looks gorgeous!

 Marie-Antoinette: An Eye for Beauty is an installation/event at the Wallace Collection, London which runs from 2nd February to 31st March 2026.

Gardens of the Enlightenment (Exhibition)

The exhibition "Gardens of Enlightenment (1750-1800)" will run at Versailles (Grand Trianon and English Garden of the Petit Trianon) from 5th May to 27th September 2026.

The unknown Louis XVI (expo)

The Hôtel Abbatial in Lunéville is to host a new temporary exhibition entitled ‘Louis XVI, l’inconnu de Versailles‘ , to run from 10th April 2026 to 28th February 2027.

Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI exhibition at Fontainebleau

The exhibition  "Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI at Fontainebleau: Splendour and the Sweetness of Life" runs at the Château de Fontainebleau from 11th October 2026 to 25th January 2027, marking  the 240th anniversary of the royal couple's final visit in 1786.

Chardin exhibition in Orléans

The exhibition "The Marcille Chardin Family: A Passion from Orléans" runs at the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Orléans, from 9th September 2025 to  11th January 2026. 

New fashion museum in Arles

The new Musée de la Mode et du Costume has opened in Arles, with a first exhibition, "Collection-Collection", running from 6th July 2025 to 4th January 2026.  

Chance to see ... a guillotine

The Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations (Mucem) in Marseilles has temporarily put a guillotine on display to mark the pantheonisation on 9th October of Robert Badinter, the justice minister responsible for the abolition of the death penalty in France.

Le Grand Dauphin at Versailles

The Palace of Versailles presents an exhibition devoted to the Grand Dauphin, Louis de France, the eldest child of Louis XIV; to run from 14th October 2025 to 15th February 2026.

Greuze at the Petit Palais

The exhibition "Painting Childhood", dedicated to the work of Jean-Baptiste Greuze, will run at the Petit Palais this autumn, from 16th September to 25th January 2026.

Marie-Antoinette's diamonds

 An article by John Jeffay in the diamond jewellery trade paper IDEX, describes pieces belonging to Marie-Antoinette on display in the upcoming V&A exhibition (14.07.2025). 

David exhibition at the Louvre

The Louvre announces a forthcoming major exhibition to commemorate the bicentenary of Jacques-Louis David's death. The exhibition will run from 15th October to 26th January 2026.

Chateaubriand exhibition

An exhibition dedicated to Atala, Chateaubriand's iconic novel of 1801, runs at the Maison de Chateaubriand, La Vallée-aux-Loups (Hauts-de-Seine) until 28th September.

Revolution exhibition moves to Vizille

The temporary exhibition, "1793/1794 un tourbillon révolutionnaire" - a adaptation of last winter's exhibition at the Carnavalet - will be held at the Musée de la Revolution française in Vizille from 27th June to 23rd November 2025.

Duplessis exhibition

An exhibition dedicated to the work of Joseph Siffred Duplessis (1725-1802) is being held this summer at the Inguimbertine Museum in Carpentras.
