Another mega-sale ....It has been announced that "$20 Million Worth of Treasures" from the Rothschild family's private collection, is to be auctioned by Christie's in New York this October.
Many of the 600 lots originate from the Rothschild homes in Paris and the Château de Ferrières (below)
Among 18th-century items, are two Louis XV giltwood and white-painted armchairs from Madame du Barry's château at Louveciennes and a Sèvres punchbowl from the service given by Louis XVI, King of France to Tipu, Sultan of Mysore in 1788.
