Snapchat has launched "8th of March, 8 Women", a new augmented reality experience for International Women’s Day.
Statues of prominent men in French cities (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille, Strasbourg, Metz and Nantes) trigger AR representations of their female counterparts. There are three 18th-century women chosen: Madame de Graffigny, Olympe de Gouges and Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun.
Cool but, I fear, unlikely to reverse Snapchat's flagging popularity.
