On 31st January Sotheby's New York is to auction a 1816 self-portrait by Élisabeth Vigée Lebrun, which is anticipated to be going to fetch as much as $1 million.
The work is one of a number of beautiful pastels to be sold from the collection of Joseph Baillio, Senior Vice president at New York art dealers Wilderstein & Co. and a renowned expert on 18th-century art.
